Carnegie Deli: the Best Sandwiches in the Universe!

The Carnegie Deli, in New York City, makes incredible sandwiches. You can find dozens of pictures of celebrities on the wall. These are a few of the very loyal customers. The Carnegie Deli has been featured on the David Lettermen show a number of times and with good reason. They make great food During our last visit to New York we visited on three different occasions. We were amazed each time. First the sandwiches there are huge. These sandwiches are not for people expecting finger food. Each sandwich is piled with so much meat that it is hard to even begin to eat one. You need two hands to hold this massive sandwich. We ordered a pastrami sandwich and this may have been one of the best sanwiches I have ever eaten. The pastrami was tasty. It was so big that I was not able to eat it in one sitting. As a matter of fact I had to take it back to our hotel and put it in the fridge. I finished it the next day. We also ordered corned beef and roast beef. Each time we were not disappointed. However, bear in mind that you may not be able to finish the entire sandwich in one sitting. The food here is not cheap: expect to pay aboput $15.00-$20.00 per sandwich. But we thought the food was totally worth it.
